Australian Aircraft Manufacturer Gippsland Aeronautics announced today that the both the US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have certificated the new turbocharged GA8-TC 320 Airvan.
Victoria Skydiving operator The Parachute School has taken delivery of the first production example of the recently released GA8 -TC 320 Turbocharged Airvan to be purchased solely for parachute operations offering their skydivers 14,000 Feet.
Gippsland Aeronautics, today announced that the Australian Civil Aviation Authority has issued an amendment to the Type Certificates for the company’s GA8 Airvan utility aircraft to cover the turbo charged variant. The variant will be known as the GA8 - TC 320 and is powered by a 320 HP Lycoming TIO-540-AH1A Turbocharged Fuel Injected Engine turning a Hartzell 80 inch (2032 mm) diameter, three blade, constant speed propeller.
The first steps towards the relaunch of the Australian designed Nomad twin turboprop aircraft were taken at a ceremony marking the hand over of the type certificate from Boeing Australia to Gippsland Aeronautics Pty Ltd.
Boeing Australia Limited has sold certification authority for the aircraft to the Australian-based general aviation manufacturer. The sale includes technical and spares sales support and all intellectual property for the Nomad aircraft worldwide. Financial terms are not being disclosed.
