GippsAero has certified a three-blade propeller installation on the naturally aspirated version of the Airvan GA8. This is the same propeller fitted to the Turbocharged variant, the Airvan GA8 TC-320.
The three-blade propeller offers a significantly lower noise footprint, which is of great benefit when operating in environmentally sensitive areas such as National Parks, Wildlife Reserves or urban airports, as well as providing improved propeller ground clearance. |

| GippsAero, today announced that the Australian Civil Aviation Authority has issued an amendment to the Type Certificates for the company’s GA8 Airvan utility aircraft to cover the turbo charged variant. The variant will be known as the GA8 - TC 320 and is powered by a 320 HP Lycoming TIO-540-AH1A Turbocharged Fuel Injected Engine turning a Hartzell 80 inch (2032 mm) diameter, three blade, constant speed propeller. |

The first steps towards the relaunch of the Australian designed Nomad twin turboprop aircraft were taken at a ceremony marking the hand over of the type certificate from Boeing Australia to GippsAero Pty Ltd.
Boeing Australia Limited has sold certification authority for the aircraft to the Australian-based general aviation manufacturer. The sale includes technical and spares sales support and all intellectual property for the Nomad aircraft worldwide. Financial terms are not being disclosed. |

GippsAero Director George Morgan recently delivered a new Airvan to the Mission Aviation Fellowship International for service in Cambodia.
MAF Australia has been a major customer of the Airvan operating seven in Arnhem Land, two in Papua New Guinea and one each in Indonesia and East Timor. However, this latest aircraft is the first to be delivered to MAF International. |

The first of the Australian-designed and built GA8 Airvans to be ordered by the United States Air Force, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), departed July 17 on its delivery flight across the Pacific Ocean to the USA. On arrival in the USA the Airvan will fly to the US Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture 2003 at Oshkosh Wisconsin, where it will form the centre-piece of the CAP display. The annual EAA Air Venture event is recognised as the world’s largest aviation air display. |

GippsAero, Australia’s leading commercial aircraft manufacturer has announced that both the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transport Canada have issued Type Certificates for the company’s GA8 Airvan utility aircraft. Canadian certification was received on April 30th whilst the FAA Type Certificate was issued on May 30th 2003. Both agencies have certificated the Airvan to Amendment 54 of Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) 23, which is latest and highest airworthiness standard available to general aviation aircraft worldwide. GippsAero understands that the GA8 Airvan is one of the first – if not the first - aircraft to achieve this standard in either country. |
